The Brownville Bridge is open for good according to MoDot, and while the Missouri River is out of its banks, it doesn't affect traffic arriving on Hwy. 136 heading west...Historic Brownville's museums, shops, theatre, concert hall, winery, arboretum or any other 'downtown' establishment are still waiting to see you. Click here for a map (From North or From South) of how to get to Brownville while Hwy 136 East of the Brownville Bridge is closed due to flooding. Many of our businesses are open week round, most are open Thursday through Sunday, click here to call ahead if you want to make sure a particular business is open during your visit.

In spite of bridge closings, a weak economy and the Missouri River at or above flood stage the entire summer, the 44th season of the Brownville Village Theatre was very successful.

Our musical, Snoopy, thrilled both children and adults. Playing Doctor, with one actor portraying 14 parts, kept the audience laughing, especially when Superman jumped through the window. Grand Prize, our romantic comedy, brought back memories of the 50’s. The Burning Man, had the audience  guessing until the very end, when the murderer was revealed. Home is Where Your Clothes Are, was a fast paced British farce, that never seemed to slow down.

We hope you will be part of our 45th year.
